I am getting an EF4 message on my VFD.
The spindle shuts off. I have to restart the software to get going again. I can move x and y.
I am pushing through MDF with a 1 3/8" slat wall bit. I am cutting in the Y direction on 5 x 8 panels. Haven't had this problem before but this is a larger bit but only 1/16"
Thanks for any help

I did a search but to no avail.
Is there any documentation that would define error messages?

From what I could see on the Yaskawa web site the EF4 error is an external error input from control circuit terminal 4.
Maybe a check of the control connections inside the shopbot control unit leading to the VFD might show something?

Thanks Adrian, The issue in not constant. I can cut 15 slat grooves then on the 16th the spindle shuts down and I get the message.
I called tech support and was told maybe from pushing the machine. I actually had good luck at 3 IPS a few weeks ago so I pushed to 4 IPS and started gotting error mssg. I actually slowed to 1.5 IPS and still got the message. I need to find out if exactly what caused it. The MDF was laminated (HPL) 2 sides when I got it. It also was curled up on the color I had to slat. I am thinking it was the distortion that was bogging the slat bit down??? I did a pass with a 3/8 end mill then the slat bit. The end mill had no problems.
Wish I could find out why.

Sorry for the obvious suggestion David.. but is that slatwall bit getting dull maybe?
I know usually my spindle is so strong it gives me almost no indication of a problem with a bit unil something either snaps or is glowing cherry red.

Thanks John, but the bit is sharp. Actually brand new.
I am lost on this. Unless it was the distorted material. It was curled up on the corners, the center on the 8' was on the table and had to clamp the outside length.
I hope to find out what EF4 means,,,,,ie router was jammed or stuck.....
