What alternative vacuum systems exist for a 48/98 standard that are inexpensive?

Using several shop vacs is about the cheapest way to go.

Cheap Vacuum Recipe:
1) One Imperial vacuum motor (from Open Source Vac thread I started a year or two ago)
2) One sheet of Trupan with one large grid machined in it's entire face, about 1/4" deep with 1" squares & 1/2" bit. Placed grid-side down (BradyVac I)
3) Drill/cut 2" hole in center of table for vac port.
All for less than $150.

We used an old Sears shop vac, drilled a hole in the table, and use All Star gasketing for whatever size project we are carving.
