Does anyone know where to get cut to order size panels of Trupan ultra lite MDF or maybe another brand of high quality MDF near the Cincinnati, OH area?

I buy Trupan from paxtonwood dot com out of Cincinnatti. They offer mill services so you could probably get a quote from them.

You can look at www.woodworkerswholesale.com (http://www.woodworkerswholesale.com) for trupan spoilboards. I think they are located out of southern indiana.

I purchased Ultralite MDF 3/4" X 49" X 97" from Russel Plywood in Deleware for $28.00 a sheet and used it worked perfectly for my Vacuum table Spoil Board. As for Trupan I seem to recall Bill Palumbo stating some time ago he only paid around 40% more then standard MDF. Seems odd that they want so much at woodworkers wholesale

Danny/Frank,
Yes I was getting Trupan for about $23 a sheet at one point but that source dried up. However I went with Brady Watson up to Atlantic Plywood a few months back and they were still carrying Trupan for under $30 a sheet. Problem there was like some other distributors they didn't understand that Trupan is not the same as "regular" ultralight MDF.
Danny,
"Real" Trupan is made from plantation grown pine down in Chile. They slice the logs as though it were a veneer process, and then do their thing to assemble the sheets. Unlike most domestic (and Canadian) varieties of ultralight the binding agents used in Trupan have roughly 95% less formaldahyde in the mix which translates to much less poison we inhale after cutting it and generating the minute ,airborne particles. There are also other properties which have been covered on the Forum here a number of times which make it a much better, safer, easier product to use than the "standard ultralight" stuff.
Woodworker's Warehouse is offering their spoilboard in a 5'by 8'size, and I have not bought any Trupan larger than the 4'by 8'size around here. But it doesn't seem to make sense that they would charge THAT much extra for a single sheet.
If it IS real Trupan each sheet will have the name stamped on the side of each individual sheet.
A number of guys have had issues where a yard said the product was Trupan, but after a second look it was one of the domestic blends, which while being better than "standard" MDF is still nowhere near Trupan.

Hood Industries carries Trupan and they cover the southeast, southwest and Vermont and Maine I believe. I am paying about $24 per sheet in Florida. Here is their site...

http://www.hoodindustries.com/distribution/

On that page, the link to McEwen Lumber covers the southeast and southwest and McQuesten Lumber has locations around Maine.
