If the dxf drawings are available to do downloaded for lots of different styles, would someone post that site?

I would like to cut some but need switch plates as well.

You can find the duplex outlet dimensions at:

http://www.boltproducts.com/heyco/iec-duplex-outlet-back-push-in.html

When you are there looking at the drawings, you can click on "cad drawings" and go find data in DXF format.

Since I found the dimensions, I created a PW drawing for my own future use. Here it is "as-is", I make no guarantee that it is correct, as I have made no outlet plates from it yet!

Would you be cutting these out of wood? I thought it would be dangerous to have electrical current close to wood?

I've seen wood wall plates before and always thought the same thing. Then again, has anyone tried to burn a plastic wall box and outlet cover? I assume they have some kind of fire retardant but then again I removed one all melted down and black from my parents home. It was pouring out black smoke. Seems since the 15 amp breaker kept tripping my father decided a 20amp would do the trick... whole other story.

I've seen some with plastic back plates, if I ever had a hankering for wood outlet covers I believe that's what I'd try to find.

Hey Harry,
Its a good thing he never tried sticking a penny behind a screw in fuse. I've seen that before.
