Glass engraving

Has anyone ever successfully engraved a map onto an 8x4 sheet of glass, does the glass need to be flooded with water to cool the bit, do you need to use a spring loaded engraving bit.

Steve, I never did a map but I did engrave a picture of two labradors for a Christmas present. It was 3' x 4' . I use a diamond drag bit from Widget Works.http://www.widgetworksunlimited.com/CNC_Diamond_Drag_Engraving_Bit_p/cnc-dmnd_engrv.htm.
