Now and then I'm still getting a quick grinding noise when my tool turns the corner on a part. In an earlier post it was suggesed that my ramp speeds might be off.

I have no idea what the values should be, and have posted them below (metric). Can someone take a look and let me know if something looks out of line? Thanks

XY Move Ramp Speed 10.16
Z Move Ramp Speed 10.16
A Move Ramp Speed 10.16
B Move Ramp Speed .4
XY Jog Ramp Speed 10.16
Z Jog Ramp Speed 10.16
A Jog Ramp Speed 10.16
B Jog Ramp Speed .4
Move Ramp Rate 5.08
Jog Ramp Rate 5.08
3D Ramp Threshold 100
MIN Distance to check 2.54
Slow Corner Speed 65
Fast Stop Threshold 5.08
Keypad Stop Threshold 44.45
Keypad Ramp Rate 20.32

Ramps look good. You might want to reduce the Slow Corner Speed to 40, to add a little more cushion in the corners.

At what speed(s) does this occur? Cutting what? With what bit? How deep per pass?

The first time was with a CR routine, no bit (cleaning table), move speed of 8ips, cutter diameter of 4" and 0 overlap between passes. It was at a corner where the spindle moves in to cut the next smaller rectangle, nasty grind.

It happened again today cutting at 6ips, 3/4" veneer core plywood, 3/8" compression cutter, 1/4" per pass. Not nearly as bad a noise, but a small grind on several corners. The corners were square, but the pieces were nested at an angle on the sheets.

I'll reduce the slow corner speed and see if it eliminates it. It did look like it was moving into the corners very quickly. Thanks.
