Hi, I've been through the Shopbot website but can't determine whether PW/PW3D, or another part of the bundle, include basic drawing tools such as rectangle, circle/elipse, line, curves/arcs, etc. that can be used to design simple structures from scratch. I'm aware of the ability to use some great library art, but this is not the focus of this my question here. I'm also fairly aware of most of the 2D and 3D drawing & CAD programs and their various capabilities but again not really what I'm trying to determine here. Rather, what I hope to determine is whether or not I must have one of these third-party programs to start the Shopbot learning process or if I can (hopefully) create and work with basic designs within the Shopbot bundle? Thanks kindly, Gerry

Gerald,
Try it out for yoursolf. Go to www.vectric.com (http://www.vectric.com) and download the trial versions of V-Carve Pro and Cut3D. PW and PW3D are the Vectric software. They are fully functional you just can create toolpaths.

Thanks Andy, Trouble is, I have a Mac so wanted to get a sense of what I can/can't do with the software before buying a PC. - Gerry

Yes, that's a good approach Bill, thanks.
I should probably reword my question though so here goes:
Does the PW/PW3D software bundle include basic drawing/CAD tools such as line, arc, rectangle, circle, etc, for people that want to draw something up from scratch?

yes .. you can draw vectors .. circles lines etc.. and parallels works great.. I do all my drawing on a Mac and send it to the PC laptop for the bot.. almost all PC cad software will function.. only had issues with a few programs so far.

Thanks much guys, that's exactly what I was hoping for and more, even better, I can do it on a Mac :-)
I'd assumed that there was no PartWizard any more since they introduced PartWorks?
