3 days from conception to completion. TV panel and bookcase. All done on the bot, and then a bit of moulding added. Whalla!

Justin,
The calender is awesome! What bit did you use and how long did it take to carve?

1/4" 60 degree bit. Took about 15 min to write in ArtCAM and 2 hours to machine. It is with a friend of mine right now who is going to paint it up and show it to Disney to see what they think. Email me if you want the vector art. JR
Hi Justin, I think your calendar is awesome! Is there anyway that I can get a copy of the DFX file?
Thanks, Carl

Justin,
I have been looking for that artwork ever since I saw it laser-etched at a printing show. Add me to the list of people who would love to have a copy of the vector file!
All 3 projects gave me things to think about! Thanks for sharing...

The Aztec calender design crops up regularly on various CNC forums and there are threads here ...

on the Vectric forum where you can download the files and see some more pictures of cut examples

Many thanks to Justin for sharing the vector file with me (and others). This forum is so generous - with time and advice! Thanks to everyone for your help in the short time I have been here. I hope to repay the favors in the future!!

I just did a V carve toolpath with ArtCAM and it was ready to go.

I did the same thing in Aspire. Worked great!

I was playing with this again tonight.
If I do a vcarve in aspire I end up with the inverse of the photo (sunken Vs and border dots)
I did get the relief I wanted in 3d in aspire....then tried it again and got a error.
I played with profile and pocket too...but that went nowhere.
Did you dig down in the design and set the cutter or was it select all and generate the path.
the inverse looks cool too...I just want to learn why I'm not getting there on the vcarve
