How fine a line will those diamond bits make on a piece of glass ?
Will they go as fine as a 16th or a 32nd inch wide ?
Do they wear down in time and the linework becomes wider ?
Any type of glass best for this ?
thankx,

The diamond drag bit that I have will cut a very small line in glass. I haven't measured it, but here's a poor picture of one of my early tests. The small print is less than 1/16" high, and they are made using the "fill" setting. Forgive the picture I have handy - it is cut from the top surface of an old piece of mirror, and the reflection is obvious.
They will chip or break over time, but the diamond replacement tips are reasonable.

Ditto on the Widget Works bits. I get a lot of great feedback at Camps from people who have expanded the use of their Shopbot simply by buying the adapters for the pens, drag knife, and etching bit. Actually I think they might really come into even more use when the new Tyro machine is out because it will allow computer aided drawings, and pattern designing, for a lot of people doing smaller, bench sized products, without having to give up table time on their "main"' Bot...
