Has anyone cut magnetic sheet stock with their router? If so, can it be cut with a regular down cut or up cut bit? I am guessing the sheet is around 1/8" thick.
Thanks

I would try downcut. a upcut will lift it right off the table. thick flexy material is hard to cut anyway.
Perhaps stick it to a sheet of metal and let it hold itself down?

I cut a couple of pieces last year. I don't recall the parameters used but I did use a 1/4" mortise. the starting sheet was about 20" x 10"
I used double sided tape. About 4 pieces 20" long.
Customer brought a file with 2 dogs about 8" tall and 3 or 4" wide.
I wish I could remember the feed and speed but it was a while ago.
It was an easy cut though. I just went slow,,,,probably 2 IPS.

I should add,,,,,,,I used the 1/4" bit as this was the smallest I had except for a ball nose. It was a one off. It did cut clean though but lot of kerf waste. There are probably bits for this but I never cut magnet material again.

real curious about this,
Is there any issues with the chips sticking to the cutter?

I don't recall any issues with sticking to the bit. I also only cut 2 small dogs out.

I just cut up a whole roll into shaped truck door magnets. I used a 1/4 downcut spiral @ 9000 rpm, 2ips, vac hold down, dust collection off. I just cleaned up the slivers with a small shop vac, don't blow them off with a blow gun cause they will stick to the rails and racks.
