I'm looking for a supplier of 1.75 or 2+ inch ball cove plunge bit, anybody know where I can find one. I've found large bearing bits, but not plunge = TIA Dubliner

These bits are pretty good and the price is very good. When I need special or odd router bit I often buy here.

I think this will work from Magnate.net

I have use some of their other bits. Not as sharp or durable as Centurion's, but they have some different profiles at fairly low prices

I guess I am the slow typist among this group!

Bob you're slow because you are a 2 fingered hunt-and-peck-er! lol

I think centurion doesn't make the core box type bits only vcarve and endmills.

Cool! I ordered a 2 in from MLCS, they're cheaper than I thought they'd be. What kind of RPM's do you use, it looks like a big hunk of metal?

I have used a 3" cove/ballnose bit and a 3" spiraling bit in a PC router and I think my speeds were between 13-16K and not had any problems. Keep in mind i don't take a big bite anyway especially when doing spiraling.

Neville,

10,000-12,000 RPM has worked well for me.

I think you will like the MCLS bits. The ones I have used seem to have plenty of carbide and coud be resharpened for years.
I was surprised how well they hold up and cheap enough to factor into a single job.
