This is my new monument sign. The face panels are 40"x68"x1/4" Alumacor. The Logo is router cut from 2" thick HDU with 3/4" thick prismatic PVC letters set into pockets . The small copy is 3/8" cut out plexiglass.
The rock base was about 40 pieces of 2" HDU scraps, all glued together to form the panels needed.
I first routered the mortar by hand 1-1/2" deep, then with a 4" grinder, quickly rounded the stones.
After a rasp, some putty here and there (Oops)I painted it with flat acrylics.
The posts are 2-4x6 PT.
The edge of the panels was made by cutting about 70 2"x7" blocks and siliconed on to fill the edges.
Thanks to Sam Staffan. John

John, very original concept, never seen one like this. like the choices you made. Love the brush (tradition) and the execution (technology)

John,

She's an absolute beauty.

One of the neat things, I find, with your signs is they reflect the free California spirit.

You should post more!!!!.

People dont realize what goes into a sign as far as the design and execution of the actual building of it . Thats a very nice sign. Hope it serves you well:)
