I am starting up a new PRS machine and wondering if there is any failsafe way to eliminate this message . I used to get it occasionally on my old machine but never when runnign a file . I noticed it happened once today when I touched my dust collection hose while a file was running . I beefed up grounding on the hose but I am still nervous it will happen again at a point when a file is running which is a PITA :( I hav emy dust collection hose groudning the collector and it is grounded to earth ground . The mostly plastic case on my PC does not hav eany obvious place for a ground . It would sem this is caused by errors on the USB cable . Is there a way to make sure this doesn't happen or a special cable that is bullet proof

do you have a bare copper wire running on the inside of your Dust Collector and grounded to the case of the Dust Collector?

Bare copper wire inside collector hose - grounded to collector and to earth ground . Spiral wire inside collector hose also grounded to same .

I've eliminated 'most' of my comm errors by running a common (key word, common) ground from the ground bus in the SB control box to:
the dust collector chassis
a bare copper wire running through the dust collector hose
both x rails on the SB
the spindle control box
and the pc chassis
I do not have a common ground on the gantry, spindle, or Fein vacs yet.
As to your pc, find a chassis ground somewhere as grounding my pc and the dust collector chassis seemed to solve the majority of my problems.
The remainder of my problems may be related to my stopping and resuming a cut with the space key to make a 'move speed' change. More later if I can better define the problem.
