I use Partworks that came with my PRS Standard 96x48 machine. When I develop a new part I always make a master drawing and save as a single unit. When I am going to cut these parts I copy the vectors by right clicking the highlighted vectors and open a new drawing and paste them there and then nest them with the amount of parts I want. Is there anyway of copying the vectors and maintaining the different layers? It would be a big time saver for me if I could copy and save the different layers. I have learned so much here I thought I would ask.

Thanks Mike

Mike,

If you use the export/import .dxf feature it should maintain layer information.

I would open the master file and do a ""save as", give it a name that works for you and you're ready to go.

That would work for a single making multiple parts but I am always cutting multiple different parts that all have different master drawings.

I will try the export .dxf and see if that works I thought about trying that but I was not sure it would work.

Thanks Mike

you can use the "shift" copy/paste icons within the same file.

edit
tims method, export dxf import dxf worked for open file to open file methods.
