I just finished a memorial plaque for some friends. Their family friend crashed his plane a couple of weeks back so they wanted something to remember him by. I brushed up on my Aspire a bit and did 2 3D carvings in pine, inlaid them in oak and set a mirror and a framed poem.

Bill, Gene and David,
Thanks for the kind words!
I really enjoyed the project. It forced me to get serious about my bot skills. Plus, all the wood for this project came from right here (my yard and my neighbor's). I milled it with my portable sawmill a couple years ago so this project became even more personal for me.

Erik,
They sent me a photo of his plane which I brought into Aspire. I used it for texture and drew vectors on it to raise the plane.
Khalid,
Thanks! I'm starting to feel like I have finally made stuff worth posting.
