Spray Canister Contact Cement

I have been buying Premier PB910 in the barbecue cannister sizes for the last several plastic laminate jobs. This contact cement works great, bonds to the slightest touch and wont let go. We carry the canisters all over the shop and even along in the field. I much prefer this to several different pressure pot spray grades that I have used over the years but.... (like a lot of shops) we dropped our pants to get busy over the winter and now we are absolutely slammed with pretty tight margin work. The contact cement cost is killing me right now. Is there any cheaper BBQ canisters out there that work as well?

The cost was something like 200.00 per canister.
When I was using 1 every 3 months I didn't really notice.
I did really like the system and wish it were affordable. Sprays great and never had issues with the spray gun.

We drag our 2 1/2 gallon pots and a vertical compressor on wheels when we do a job out of shop.
When I spray parts I can lay them up almost immediately. Just have to tune the gun.
Just make sure to bring a 5 gallon bucket to put your gun in after spraying. These things get dirty and the glue will leak out at an alarming rate.

Yep, you got it. Looks like a propane tank for your grill.

I am paying $265 per tank. The sales guys all claimed I could laminate five times the area of 5 gallon spray grade pails and its coverage does surprise me... buy they lie. I have been burning a tank every three days for a few weeks now. And I would buy the bigger, forklift tote container but I'd have to second mortgage something to pay for it.

Its actually PB925 that I use now. We switched cause it was a few dollars cheaper than the other one but holds just as strong.

I looked through some old bills and I had paid 225.00 in 2005.

The sq. footage of using the spray grade by the 5 gal I feel is the way to go. $400.00 for 55 gallons. I use the red adhesive. It is so easy to see and get good coverage. I think I figured the spray pot at about 5 cents a sq ft. The bbq style I think was about 50 cents per sq. foot. It has been a while but I know the savings were very huge.
Get the 55 gallon drum and put 5 gallons aside for road work.
Get a pogo pump and life gets easier.

Nope there are no cheaper solutions if you wanna go with canister.

Alternative:
55 gal. drum for about $500 also 5gal buckets.
Adhesive is good quality
Con: you need to use spray gun or you could do spray pot but still need compressor.

What we have done we went with 55gal. in shop and do as much of postlam.

In field post lam limited to minimum and use canister on very limited basis.

That saves money big time.

stopped using canisters 8-10 years ago, staput makes a 5 gal that is best on market, sold by webdon in our area as "webgrip" use regular quart gun for field use and 5 gal pot for shop
