Here is a project that I worked on with Grant Bailey. With his design and my tools it turned out quite nice. :-) -Oscar

Is called Parallam. It's engineered wood normally used for roof spans. It was sealed with 4 coats of a Spar Urithane.

Nice use of materials "outside the box". Speaking of boxes, I also like the shell box.

I would never have thought of using that material but it gets your attention with it's surface and endgrain patterns. Clean, nice design too.

Great Look!
You could also use it in place of a bearing wall
Is it easy to move?
How much does it weight?

Erminio, there's a lot of material in it and overall weight is pretty substantial. I'm sure it's at least a couple hundred pounds. However it breaks down so that one person can carry each piece, kinda like a ShopBot. The headboard is the largest individual component. It's maybe safer if two people carry that just to avoid bumping it on things. The frame around the outside of the mattress would have taken the weight prize, but it has significant routing on the underside to remove extra material. However the color patterns on it make it pretty hard to see bumps and dings anyway!
