Does anybody use a mister for cooling? I want to mist some plastic to see if I can get a better cut.

Hi Jerry
I use a "digi-drip" when I am doing aluminum
on acrylic I use only the air side of it.

I think it was Brady who made a cooling tip using a basketball needle and a small needle valve to control the flow.
even a small amount of air does help a lot on acrylic.

Jerry,

I don't believe you need a mister for this kind of work. We have three dozen 1/4" thick 4" aluminum letters to cut this week. Although we have a Vortec air cooler, it's of no use when using a BELIN upcut bits. Those bits will also cut acrylics so smooth you will be amazed.

TheY sell for about $35 each. Please give them a try and let us know how you do.

Misters are seldom necessary for the kind of work you and I do and very messy. Save your money.

Jerry

What speeds ipm and rpm do you cut the acrylic. It seems somes days I get great cuts and the next its melting? Do you change these speeds as the acrylic gets thicker or just do it in multiple passes without changing speeds.
