View Full Version : 18,000 3/8 " holes 3/4 Maple Veneer Plywood

Hi Folks ,

I'm about to start a project need a little advice on router bit choice .

Porject : drill 3/8" through hole in 3/4 maple veneer plywood
approxitmently 18,000 holes total in 9 4x8 panels.(Wow That's A lot of Holes)..anyhow... any help would be greatly appreciated with what kind of tool should I be using , speed ,feeds plunge etc.

Terry...
Try testing with carbide tipped boring bits. They come in 2 styles, a pointed thru drill and typical brad point. Some brands of plywood cut better with one or the other. 3000-5000 RPM. .75 to 2ips. All will cut good on the up side, adjust your feeds and speeds to get best back side

If this is going to be an ongoing project I'd start looking at an air drill.

2000 holes per sheet, what are you making stain grade peg board? That is a lot of holes. wow!
