I just carved this pine and glazed it. Just a test project, but liked how it turned out. Going to have to add this process to several projects.
Pine - blue stain; 2inch thick, 14in high, 34in long. Carving 28x8x.65 deep; 3 1/2hours, 1/4ball nose, 10% step.
Vectric moose, cougar, forest panel. 6.2% tilt on moose and cougar to sink the feet into the grass.
Asphaltum glaze but needs a little more sanding and highlighting, but have to deliver it as is.

I like it too! It looks really nice. Making me rethink the whole pine/rustic pine carving thing....

If it weren't for all the knots pine would be a great material to work with. That looks great Butch. I like the way you "framed" it. It's like you are looking thru this opening and seeing this scene far off...good job.
