Nice! Is the knurled textured background a V carve process?

Yes, John, it is a v-carve design cut at 1/16" deep.

Gary,
That is a very nice piece of work! Could you please give a little insight on how you did the background? It looks like checkering on a rifle stock or pistol grips.

Yes, it does give the appearance of gun stock checkering. Each line is offset 3/16" from the outer sides of the wedge. After trimming off the excess segments outside the wedge outline, I simply told Aspire to spread 4 more sections around in a circular pattern. The checkering portion was cut with a 90 degree v-bit--1/16" deep. It probably should have been cut a little deeper to get perfect points at the tops of the checks.

Nice Job Gary. How big is it? Can we see a pic of it when it finds a home?

Great Job! I happen to be in Amarillo this weekend when I saw this. All the guys really liked it.

It is 46.5" in diameter and about 3" thick. It has 4 layers to it. As far as getting a picture of it when it has a new home--I surely hope so, but cannot say for sure at this time.
