I guess this wouldn't make a good carving because it is more in the subtle painting but can you see 2 men?

Forever Always by Octavio Ocampo

Cool... from the obvious down...
I see an old man and woman
2 illegal immigrants
a woman in a door way (perhaps of ill repute?)
a wine chalice since obviously they've all been drinking
and a condom
interpretation 2
An old man and woman have been drinking and they remember their younger days... he begins to remember the first time they... and she wishes they'd not forgot the condom and had those dang kids that forced them to get married... the next painting involves a lot of red paint.
interpretation 3
An old man and woman remember their youth, get depressed and begin drinking causing him to hallucinate about a woman of ill repute he once new and she remembers her wild days trying to recount why she had so many kids.
interpretation 4
The painter was drunk, started painting a lovely couple but forgot what he was painting and began a new thought with Mexican singers, while still drinking he began thinking about visting the local bar to pickup a woman and he'd better remember to take something with him.
interpretation 5
I'm drunk and this is really a painting of a bowl of fruit.
I agree... this would not lend it self to a carving unless you were willing to paint in the subtle transitions to bring out the original artists vision. You might have to pay royalties too since he is more of a contemporary artist and to my knowledge is still alive.
BTW, does anyone have a wet blanket? There is a party over here and I...

Ask me what time it is and you'll learn to monitor the resonance of a cesium atom to accurately monitor time and how the theory of relativity causes time in your frame of reference to move faster or slower than another frame of reference. Then you'll learn why you can't actually know what time it is because you can't know the exact position and velocity of the particle at the same time followed by a brief lesson on quantum physics. By the time we get to watch making you'll have died of boredom and it won't matter what time it is.
Really... this party is getting out of hand, wet blanket?

I see a chalice!
One thing is for sure....you will never know unless you try!
Change the way you see things and watch things change.

Jack , I also see the 2 men. I couldn't see it before but happened across the same photo a few minutes ago and the man wearing a sombrero and playing guitar are clearer.
It's a cool picture thanks for keeping it interesting.

MC Escher was famous for his linoleum etchings where there is "figure/ground" confusion.

What is fascinating about most of the originals is how small they are, roughly 4 inches on a side for many of them. Metamorphosis is the width of the wall of the post office where it was painted, an exception to that trend. If you get a chance to ever view the originals, they are just as interesting as the more famous "Dutch masters".
Jack- your image is intriguing for the same reason-

Old Man, Old Woman, Guy in Sombrero playing guitar for a dude in a dress (with a bottle of hooch next to him, although I think the guy with the guitar must have had a little too if he doesn't realize thats a dude in a dress), and then the chick in the fireplace.
Did Octavio like mushrooms?
