I machined the basic components and fabbed the crown on the bot using Aspire's 2 rail sweep. The corners are mitered folded using a basic 90 degree bit. The bird openings are backed up with black acrylic so the customer dosn't need to maintain it. The main box is primed and painted MDO with cedar trim elements. The standing seam roof, made from standard coil stock, was plotted on the bot using Russ's pen and bent-up with a siding break. It goes well with their home, They love it! :D

Steve
Thanks for posting.
That is a very nice cupola. Coming from farm country, I'm not use to seeing one so nice. Great job.

Steve - Great job. I do a little contracting on the side and I love to see the Shopbot used for construction jobs.

Is the cupola just sitting on top of the shingles or is it directly attached to the sheathing? I didn't notice any flashings, so I was just wondering what method was used to seal it where it meets the shingles.

Very nice, you have made me rethink the ones I am designing for my barn.

Thank you for all the greatest of complements very much appreciated. Simple install that requires no complicated flashing. The ridge is simply caped 1' on either side of the the cupola base. Had it been located in a tricky valley location extra care would be necessary to make it a water tight install.
