View Full Version : IWF - Who's coming?

I've had a couple of inquiries about whether I'd be hosting another get together at my shop this year in conjunction with the IWF. I was hoping to be able to do so, but unfortunately all my evenings are booked with events for the Cabinet Makers Association (Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday) and a family event that cannot be changed (Son's 18th birthday is Friday). I would consider a morning, especially Saturday morning as I'm not planning to go back to the show on Saturday. Not sure that would work for more than a few people as it would cut into show time, but I'm open to suggestions. Maybe we could just arrange to all eat lunch together at the CNN center one day?

Anyway, who's making the trip this year?

I plan on making the trip - and I would also like to participate in a gathering.

I'll be there, just not sure which days yet or how much time I'll have after the event. Lunch somewhere sounds doable.

Just so this post does not die. I will be going on Wednesday at least and if I need to see more I will go back Thursday. I am up for lunch or just to get together.

I hope to make it. I thought I had a conflict but it turned out I had written the wrong dates down. Do I need to get a pass ahead of time?

I'll be there at least the first three days.

If you sign up online ahead of time you can save some time not having to go through the registration process and stand in line. Probably too late to have your pass mailed out but might still save time not having to have all your info input while you stand there.

Since it seems like the largest number of people will be there on Wednesday how about if we meet in the middle of the food court at the CNN Center at 12Noon Wednesday? We could try it again on Friday to see if anyone has found any cool new stuff worth sharing.

If that's too early (or if we want to miss the lunch crowd) we could make it later in the afternoon - I have commitments each day at the show at 1PM so for me it's either before or after.

I am also planning to go on Wednesday. A lunch break sounds good if it works for others.

I'll try to make it tomorrow at noon, turns out I have to finish up a job first so I may be running to get signed in and to my 1PM seminar.

The show was smaller than previous shows but still worth the trip. Shopbot's booth was very open this year and either the largest yet or the 3 sided open booth made it seem much bigger.

The lunch Wednesday was a great time to socialize and it's too bad David couldn't make it... some lame excuse about finishing a job, paying bills... yeah yeah.

David missed a GREAT lunch too... James Booth was there, he gave everyone a free copy of his total pacakge of 3D clip art ($1100 value) for attending. Everyone received a Tyro in turn for testing it and providing feedback. CNN awarded everyone on the floor an all expense paid trip to Europe. Bank of America handed out free samples. Oh, the exotic dancers were a nice touch too. But... everyone agreed the absolute highlight was meeting me! It's too bad all you guys missed it. Oh, and be sure to contact me about that ocean front property I have for sale in Wyoming. I'm letting it go for a huge discount.

With astounding humility everyone, I was so glad you could see me.
;)
