Yes Joe
We have done Leed job in millwork not signs. I do not have idea how it hold up outside. How about you bucket of water test, ask vendor for sample or call manufacturer.

Thanks for posting Tex,

I'm looking for some experience with their new outdoor product.

Probably need to look at the sign forums.

Joe, what's the new version of Medex?

I looked at sierra pine the manufacturer of Medex but they don't have any new version of Medex listed on their site as yet.

Joe, I don't see any change from the product we have been using for the last couple of years. Currently have a sheet of it as a sub-base on my Shopbot right now.

I read the posted link above but that is from 3 years ago.
not sure if I'm missing something here?

There isn't any new blends of Medex. Medex already uses a formaldehyde free binding system. F.S.C. blend is available. Medex is a "Green" material. It will never be as good outside as Extira, but if it is properly sealed with paint/finish it should hold up for a very long time.

All it is green product. That is why we used it for Leed job. Joe I know you like Extira and you are happy with it. Just stick with it if it woks for you.

So called Green products was a purely marketing but there will be more and more due to new millwork manufacturing legislation. I do have my doubts in regards to imported sheet goods coming mainly from Indonesia and China.
