The motor on the x-axis on the front of the machine, (0,0) to the left hand, has started to squeak. It sounds like a bird chirping at first. But if you listen close it’s more like plastic rubbing together that is dry. Its is not consistent in loudness or frequency, sometimes going away.

The motors are Oriental Motors model ASM98AA-T7.2. The machine is 2 years old, but gets used only a couple hours a week if that. PRS Alpha, 60 x 96, 2.2 hp spindle.

I checked the pinion gear first thinking the shaft was spinning, but that’s ok. It’s coming from inside the motor. Only the front side is doing it.

It seems to early, but it sounds like something is wearing out in that motor prematurely

They don't have a lot of grease in them from the factory. I took my motors off of the gear boxes and pumped about 10 shots of grease from my grease gun into mine. I didn't have a squeak though.

Are you sure your gear is not hitting the aluminum on your machine?
