Hi guys,

I'm a totally non-commercial user. I work in a school and theatre that happen to own a Shop Bot. We've used it on some great projects - and I've got a software question.

I would love to use more than the handful of fonts that PartsWizard will let me V-carve but there's no wau I can justify spending $1000 on ArtCAM. Are there any lower-priced options out there? I've got access to CAD - I use it for work all the time so I'm not really looking for a full featured CAD suite. I'm really just looking for somethign that will help with lettering and v-carving.

Any suggestions?

Shobot does offer some school discounts. It would be worth a phone call, if the school is buying it.

If it is only a font thing how about buying a older version of coreldraw. You create your design and change all text to curves and then vcarve them in part wizerd. Unless it is the limited function of part wizerd.

Bryce - Is it not possible to add more fonts to Partwizard?

I have Vcarve Pro and it will pick up any true type font that is loaded into the Windows font directory. I have added fonts several times. Not sure if Partwizard has the same functionality.

No - PartWizard can only carve 10 preset fonts. It will not work changing the font name, assigning shapes to font name or anything else.

Call SB to see how much a PartWizard to PartWorks upgrade is.

Talk to vectric about educational price.
VcarvePro is the way to go. It is best bang for you buck CadCam software.
