I was in San Francisco recently and went to the Museum of Modern Art. Most of it was not to my liking but I saw a chair that had to be a CNC project. I thought I'd share a couple of pictures.

I can see by your website that you have the ability. I didn't measure the chair when I was at the museum so the dimensions I am presenting here are based on chairs I measured at home. Obviously you can make adjustments as you are creating the plan.
The overall diameter of the circle is approximately 30 - 32 inches, height to seat is 16 inches, height to top of back is 30 - 32 inches.

A material thickness of 1/2" should be fine.

Look out for patent infringement!!!
You can base your design on it but you need to ensure enough changes to stay out of possible trouble!! Particularly since you sell the designs.

fabrun

even if it is in a museum?

The fact that it is in a museum does not make the specific design trademark or patent free. Many companies make different versions of "papa-san" chairs but each is different enough to individualize their own version. With your talent I am sure you can do one that is based on the design as opposed to copied and have a great product!! You may already be ahead by not having the exact sizes of the elements, etc.
Just note that not all designers are as free with others using their designs as Sam Maloof was with his rocking chair.

That is awesome. I would love to know how you do that. How do you take a shape and turn it into all of those pieces? How much for this design

Made the chair 1/3 scale for my wife's dolls. Made from 1/4" cintra.

Yup. 1/3 scale. They are about 22" tall.

looks like the chair needs more curve in the bottom of the seat to be usable/comfortable but very cool design

Very nice Randy. Was it easy to assemble, there are a lot of interlocking parts.

The hardest part was keeping the parts straight. Too many pieces that all look the same. Assemble was a piece of cake. I think on a full sized chair you would want to glue the parts together, but who cares if a doll falls on its butt.
