Finally figured out the proximity switches... the manual was wayyyyyy off!.. I wired up the z zero and went to C2 command to check if it was working and of course it is not. The wiring in the control box consists of the black wire to input 1 and the green wire to ground. If i go to touch the clamp to the z plate i get one hell of a spark, measured the voltage and I'm getting like 62Volts DC between them. I highly doubt this is right, when I try the C2 command I get a warning that it could not reset z zero. I read some forums about swapping the black and green wire and it works gonna try this tomorrow.
What input switch setting should be used/selected? I am assuming the same as the proximity switches.
Any tips or suggestions on what is going on with this?

Zach,
When i got my table some things were wired incorrectly and as far as I know there should not be anywhere near the kind of voltage running thru that line, which makes me think you have it wired to a wrong lead.
The whole idea is to just open and close a circuit to denote position and not some kind of direct current like you talk about. If I were you i would disconnect that wire and give shopbot tech support a call direct.
Scott, or Frank or any of them can get you straightened out and keep you from burning up some control chip or whatever because you definitely have a wrong thing wired and you could destroy something if not careful.
The designs have changed and frankly the documentation hasn't kept up (If thats the worst thing i can complain about that no big deal) but it will keep you frustrated.
Again, walk away from it till you talk to support.

Thanks for the help, I finally got the proxy switches and the z zero wired up. For some reason input 1 would not work in the control box put zero on input 5 and it works fine. Thanks for all the help!

Expecially during setup, but at anytime do not hesitate to call ShopBot. I found several things wrong in my setup but learned that the operator was the primary culperate. They can tell you what to look for, and save you money and time. I know. I called several times during that first 6 month period, but have probably not talked to them for almost a year. Once I got the 'setup' problems fixed, seems the machine works almost without problem.
Works to call ShopBot and if they are going to call you back, post here on the forum. Usually it is a race where the answer comes first. While your waiting do a search, and quite often the question has been answered, often several times.
Good luck and good botting
Butch
