I first want to thank all the ShopBot reply people who answered my concerns about doing sink cutouts in fully formed formica countertops up to 8 feet in an upside down position with the backsplash hanging over the edge of both the machine and extensions on either side for positionsing purposes.

I then in summary would like to know if I'm rith in thinking either a table top unit or a 4x4 floor model is what i should look for as a dedicated machine and not a ShopBot Buddy because its table moves.

Further if you could give me your opinion what would be reasonable dollar-wise for this request and what search venue is best as Google seems to have too many dead ends and the Forum page seems to only mention 4x8's and bigger.

Thanks again for your help and I'll try not to bother you anymore. Oscar G:)

Oscar,
It seems that a 4X4' machine would be best for your application, and lowest cost. Of course, you'll have to setup in-feed and out-feed tables, but aside from this, I don't see it being an issue.

A 4X4' is the smallest of the 'full size' CNC machines that ShopBot sells. The table is stationary and it is very stable. It is identical to a 4X8 or larger machine, there's just less of it.

I have not done any Formica but have had a 48x48 PRS for about two months and I'm more than happy with the rigid build of this machine.

Do not be afraid to ask ANY questions on this forum. This is a very great group of people!
