Kevin,

We moved away from Trupan years ago because of the haphazard distribution network they have and have since switched over to using triple refined moulding grade MDF which for our vacuum spoil board works even better than the Trupan. No fuzzing when cutting into it, less swelling due to atmospheric conditions etc.

We can actually hold smaller parts better with the moulding grade. We also get better life out of it due to the lack of excessive swelling. The panel stays much flatter from week to week between surfacings.
It should be easier to find in your area.

Good Luck,

Tom in PA

I use ULMDF from Allegheny plywood. It works very well and is only about $30 a sheet. It is located in Cleveland if you need a contact give me a PM.

I have it on right now and I do not like it. I have to tape all my work down.

Kevin,

There appears to be two Baer Supply (http://www.baersupply.com/baer/our_businesses.jsp) Locations in Ohio and a couple of Flagg Inc (http://www.flagginc.com/) Locations in Ohio. They are cabinet materials suppliers and both sell ULMDF.

Kind Regards,

JIM

I look at both places and they do not stock it. Up in the north, for some reason they did not know.
But I think I found a new place in Detroit @ All America Plywood. What they have is 32 lbs density.
I'm going Friday

FYI... 3/4" trupan ULMDF weighs 69 lbs per 4x8 sheet.

Of course, it's not actually 3/4" thick - it's a metric size, and the factory cuts it a little over 4'x8' in size.

Good luck with your quest.

Just got back from All American Plywood with the ULMDF and it looks real good and is alot lighter. So later I will take off my old board and get the new surface to night.
