Hi Folks

I've been using Vector for alot of years and it works well for me.

I just got a new laptop and it won't install, something about a version of windows.

It has windows 7 and I have another pc with win 7 that works just fine.

My guess is the new one is windows 7 64 bit and the old is 32 bit, do you think that may be the problem?

Thanks
Eric

Hi Eric,

I still use Vector 9.4 from time to time for special case toolpaths. I recently built two Windows 7 64 bit computers and I wasn't able to run Vector on them. However, if you have Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, or Ultimate editions, and certain hardware requirements, you can install and run "XP mode".

I've done this, and it works fine for the times I need to use Vector.

You could also set up a dual boot situation with Win 7 and XP.

I suppose the latest/greatest version of Vector will work on Win 7 64 bit, but that's a bit pricey.

If you need any help getting "XP mode" set up, let me know.

You can download VMware and set up an XP machine on it I have to do this for my scanner to work.

Excellent, thanks guys. Vector works just fine for what I do so I don't want to change now.
