Firsr time trying to use Lead Ins/Lead Outs
Lead in works on typical closed vectors; but, when I try an Open Vector it doesn't create the Lead In. Anyone?

Denis...
Try the zigzag. Since you will only machine on, right or left of the line, the software will not guess where it can generate a leadin. A closed vector will exibit the same properties when machine on is selected.

Gary,
Thnx but, no go.
On trying any of the 3 Ramps, the check box "Ramp on Lead In " does NOT activate under "Specify Ramp..." (although I can choose distance or angle)
I'm using a form tool that I added to the tool db.

I took a short straight line (open, but straight) and a circular version. Selected machine ON, ramping, zig zag, and 10 degrees. Here is what I got:

Ah! Ramping is vertical. So, yes, I get the same. But, I'm entering the material from the side with a form tool that must plunge outside of the material, and then enter horizontally.
Since you've identified the problem as the open vector, I may just have to modify the vector for Lead In/Out

Put a tail on your line out to the side where you want your bit to plunge. On the end of that tail, right click and make it the start point node.
If you need to do a lead out you can do a tail on the other end as well.
