So my first feable attempts at appling gold leaf to V-Carved letters has been horrible so I thought I would ask the experts and take it from there...
So far I have been using a 60 Degree Onsrud bit, sealing with shellac, then adhesive. I tried the shellac and adhesive on flat areas and it seemed to work fine but once I try to apply it to letters it just doesn't want to lay in and stick... I am using a make up brush to apply it to the letters. I was thinking maybe going with a 90 or 120 degree V-bit would help??? My smallest letter is about 0.5"-0.75" high, is this just not feasible?

Any thoughts would be appreciated:)

Yes a 60 degree bit is very deep but can be done. You will use up a lot of gold to get it in that deep. It will reflect light much, much better with a shallower cut depth. 110 or 130 work better.
