Was planning on gluing the MDF to the ply this weekend to make my vac plenum, but the outside temp is going to be about 30 F and only a space heater in the shop for now. That means I will be lucky to hit 40 to 45....

Titebond III is only good down to about 47 F.

Anyone know of a quality low temp glue?

I personally don't know any any glues down to that temp that will work. Is it possible to "tent" your ShopBot and apply heat under the Bot? Of course you would have to be careful because of fire.

Daryl, thanks for the reply. We are on the same page here. Just trying to figure out how to do the tent thing without creating a hot spot where the heater is....

Florida or Arizona are sure looking good today!!

Les:

Try putting the heater under the table and shroud the sides. The heat should radiate up through your base.

Would an electric blanket work ?

Les, I wouldn't be too concerned with hot spots other than getting the surface too hot and scorching it. Like it was mentioned put the heater under the table and cover top with a few blankets. It really doesn't take too much heat to get such a small area to the desired temp. I believe 60 degrees is more than ample.

Gorilla Glue works to 40 degrees F.

Thanks for the input everyone.

Blue tarp over the machine.

An electric radiant heater, the oil ones that look steam heat and everything is warming up nicely. Will give everything some time ply, mdf and glue to acclimate and will put it together, recover and turn the heater down to low.

Where there's a will......

I would use electric blanket on top of wood. I use this on molds for RC aircraft. And the heat under will help too, With a tarp over the top
