Hi Kevin,
I am not the guy to answer you question but I think you need to provide some more info for any of the smart guys on here to help you.

What soft ware do you have now?

I use Aspire. It provides everything I need to make everything from kitchen cabinets to toys.

Aspire
1. to yearn (for) or have a powerful or ambitious plan, desire, or hope (to do or be something): to aspire to be a great leader.
2. to rise to a great height

That's the dictionary definition, using Aspire will certainly raise you and your projects to a greater height. As you can tell I love it! LOL Russ

This table outlines the differences:

http://www.vectric.com/WebSite/Vectric/software_comparision.htm

Note that PartWorks (ShopBot) 2.5 is the same as VCarve Pro.

The chart does not show Vcarve pro to have the ability to do 3D machining, Multisided 3D machining, or 3D slicing. Partworks 3D can do all of those.

PartWorks 3D is the same program as Cut3D which is on the chart.
