I can draw a hexagon [polygon] shape but how do I arrange multiple hexagons to fill an area? I tried the linear & circular array copy function but it puts all them in circles or rows and columns. I want the file to be arranged to look like an actual honeycomb.

I think you may need to draw a few manually then copy and paste. Then copy those and paste, with each one you double the number of parts you copy and paste and they should kind of snap together as long as they are symetrical(?)
this took about a minute to make. Its not perfect but it can be done relatively easy.

Tim,
There are a couple of ways to do this and the best way to do it may depend on what type of toolpath you plan on using it with.
Here is how I would approach it using the Array and Copy tool.
First create one hexagon, and I specified a radius of 0.5".
Now select this first hexagon and use the array copy tool with the setting shown in the picture. Note the size of the hexagon, as shown in the top of the array tool, is 1.0" by 0.866".
After the first array, group it, then copy and paste to create a second array.
Now use the Move Tool in Relative mode to move the second array relative to the first. You will move it 0.75" in X and 0.433" in Y, which is half of the Y dimension you noted in the Array Copy tool.
Sample .crv file attached.

Tim is right on the ball!
We must have been drawing the same thing at the same time. I went to post, and it would have been a complete duplicate post. ;)
