I'm making 10 inch high letters (13 of them) from 2 inch gatorboard and painting them grey.

2 questions, please.

A. How much to charge for the letters?
B How much to charge to put them up 18 feet (I'll need to rent a scaffold)

Thank you and happy new year.

The sign pricing guide isn't really helping much. So.

The scaffold rents for 55, the foam costs 85 and paint 40.

I figure that 650 for everything is the least, but is that too cheap?

M.

This is one of those simple little jobs that's hard to make much profit on. The installation, for me, would be done by an installation company because I loose money doing it myself. That would cost approx. $200 and I that's a bargain.

To cut the letters, prime and paint (Double Coat), and make the installation patterns would take a full day.

I've found it difficult to bill this kind of job out for $800 - $1000 which is what it takes.

I'd consider having the completed job done by someone else and mark it up at 30%.

Thanks Joe.

I'm low on orders so I'll do it all myself.

I'm doing the windows with Vinyl for 300 so another 675 would make me 700 for two days. (- rent and electricity) but it's a few dollars more then I have now.

I ended up quoting 800 and it's a deal , plus the 300 for vinyl.

Now, would someone please explain how to use this machine?

I wholesale those letters @ $19 ea. painted = $247
install is either 1/2 a day .....3/4 day or all day.
1/2 day=$250......I have my own ladders and plank.
This job would sell for about $600 in town.
The drawings and selling time would also need to be considered.

OK so I'm right-on, considering there is an arch, and I have to make a template to align the letters.

Thanks.

Just a heads up... if its gatorfoam brand you're using... it ain't like it used to be.
The hard face curls and wants to separate from the foam core when used for exterior applications (Texas' Sun)
We use gatorblank for stuff like this.
