I have a PRT alpha with a 5 hp Colombo spindle/air drill and a 10 hp
delta vfd. I have the new control software Sb 3.6.28.

I am just getting started running it and could use a few tips

When I run the custom 5 file, C5 [warm up routine] the software prompts
me to start the spindle by pressing the on button --
spindle starts
when I run the custom 6 file [C6] run spindle, it turns on output 8
on line 38 then pauses on line 43 and
prompts me to turn on spindle
nothing happens no spindle action it just finishes the program
The air drill works great when C8 is used

I can also turn the spindle on with the yellow key pad [K] toggling
output 1. no prompt but the green button on the controller turns on the spindle

finally when I try the simple command SO,1,1 the blue#1 output light comes on but not the spindle. It justs looks at me.

parameters on the VFD?-- bad wiring somewhere?-- software conflict--air drill messing things up? any help or ideas would be appreciated
thanks Tony Davis

For the spindle to turn on with an Alpha three thing have to happen.
1: Output number 1 needs to be on. You can turn output 1 on with Alt+1 or C6 or KeyPad and click switch 1
2: Output number 4 needs to be on. Output number 4 automatically turns on anytime the tool is ready to move. You can turn it on by opening the keypad control or Alt+4 or start a file.
3: Press the green start button.
Once the spindle is running you can toggle switch #1 on and off and the spindle will start and stop without having to press the start button. If you toggle #4 off then on you will have to press the start button.

The RPM will not change unless you have the RPM controller in the VFD. If you do not have a USB cable coming out of the VFD-B then you cannot change the RPM from the computer
