computer issue

I am losing my port every couple days. The bot stops moving but the spindle still runs. I check device manager and I have no ports.
I unplug my hi speed 2.0 from the wall, restart the computer and then it is back.
Any ideas if I am needing a new device or new computer.
I have an older p c running windows xp pro. I have been running 4-5 hour files a month or so ago with no issues.
