Can anyone tell me the practical reasons for upgrading from partworks to aspire?

I just did it last week. If you want to work and create 3d things then it is a must. I have cut3d but is very limited in sizing parts rotating them and making toolpaths. that was the big thing for me so much time is wasted sometimes with the limited toolpath.
I am very surprised how easy it is to make the 3d drawings. and all the things that can be done with it.
but if you don't do 3d it will be pointless.

Does Aspire create more efficient cutting paths? I do my 3d modeling in another program and then export as stl or obj so that side is covered but I do want more control over the cutting path for 3d stuff. Does Aspire do this?

If you haven't already I would suggest downloading the trial version of Aspire.

not so much on the roughing path but on the finish you can do offset or raster. Plus you can set how much gets cut so you don't have to machine all of the flat. I was watching the video of how to do a rest cut. where you use a larger ballnose for most of it and then just cut the smaller area's with the smaller bit. like one of the videos was showing a sliced model and how to make it do you don't have to machine the flat area's where the other layers go.
