I know we have an application for an Apple IPod Touch to control the ShopBot - Is anyone working on an application for a Zune?

I'd also love to have an app for Andriod. I remember a post about the ipod version suggesting that someone could work with a developer to write these platform specific apps. If there is an interest from other shopbotters, I might look into it.

What specific functionality would you guys be looking for when using a portable device like a smart phone or a smart MP3 player?

ZUNE is not possible because the SDK does not allow for local network access.

Most of the others.. BlackBerry, Windows Phone 7, iPhone, Android, Chumby, yadda yadda are possible.

I'm not immediately seeing the need so if some of you can detail what you want or need with this sort of thing I can probably come up with some Level of Effort estimations so we can see if there is some ROI on building something.

I'm a blackberry user and would like to have at least basic keyboard function. FP command input would be great as well as stop, resume, and FG. (BTW-it's a Curve-not a touch screen). If I switch to a touchscreen it will probably be Sprints 4g offerings-Samsung and HTG.

I wrote to the guy that did the iphone app and ask if he had any thoughts on doing an Android app. His response was "not at this time"

I would like one for android. I have the Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant I9000. Love the phone but but would really like a shopbot app for it. I have thought about buying a older ipod to leave in the shop and use the ipod app. I posted about this once and have contacted a developer about it but they were not interested. Not sure how much work it is or cost involved in making apps. :)
