I have a customer that is looking for 200-300 matte black custom picture frames with V-carving of inspirational words around the frames. They also want to keep the words in the MDF natural color for the contrast. I am going to do them out of 4' x 8' x 3/4" MDF sheets. On my tiral runs I have tried painting the sheet prior to running it through my bot but I have a lot of touch up at the end. Which will kill me on this size of an order. whatever route i run with i think i need to finish the sheet prior to machining. I was wondering if anyone has tried to powder coat MDF in house? I have seen multiple companies on the web that will do it for you but have not seen much in the line of trying to do it in house. i read some old forum threads from 2006 but nothing updated. has anyone tried this in house or does anyone have a better route to finish approximately 40 sheets of MDF?
