Happy New Year everyone!

While doing a google search I found this link to a story by the wife of a shopbotter http://darwindiaries.com/?p=1314

Since my wife has complained she sees less of me since I got my shopbot over 3 months ago, I clicked it to see what another wife would have to say.

It turned out this person encountered the same experience in the shopbot community as I did. I thought anyone with a shopbot would be a competitor and exchanging information would be limited. Surprise surprise, just like this lady I found a very friendly community of very talented people who are more than willing to help out anyone who has a question. They show off their best work and tell you exactly how they made it, to the last 10,000th of an inch. Cheer others up when they do something. Everyone learns and gets better.

It has been a really nice experience to join this group. It has been a lot of help in learning to use a cnc router and design software.

My thanks to all and my best wishes to you on this new year 2011.

You ARE the husband!

From her writing, your wife seems to have accepted the shopbot (the "beast" I think she calls it) quite well!

Keep working on the bot, it is a lot of fun.

I tried the "dock" approach last night...she said she didn't want a dock! But I still thought it was pretty good that you built her a dock, and got a boat AND a truck...I need to hone my skills a bit more...

"I need to hone my skills a bit more... " Maybe we can talk Angus into doing a special session for all of us at the next camp! :) :) Russ

Hi there!

I'm glad y'all liked the story, but I don't think your wives or girlfriends will want you to hone your 'skills' with Angus!

(unless they wind up with 20 pairs of Jimmy Choo's, some prada bags and a shiny new Jag of course! :D)

My wife calls it the SHEBOT.
I keep telling her it hasn't replaced her,but sometimes it's a hard sell.

I'm so sorry! I don't know what I would do if something ever happened to Frank other than a long happy life... :(

Peanuts are doing great... fry my own now, LOL

Jacquie and Angus bring great joy to he shopbot family.

Jacquie should simply write a book about the Shopbot
antics because we all remember your wonderful writing which
gave us all a wonderful tickle with the peanuts. The funny part is that
I had been to the previous class so I had clear visions of the peanut
bag hanging there.

I chuckle everytime I think of it!

go write that book and I know you will sell a million copies... You just need to
watch and report on what Angus is up to!

Thanks
