Need some help with this, a local church has asked me to make their front sign out of individual letters. Any tips on mounting the letters on a brick wall? Should I just place a spacer in between and use construction glue?
Thanks for helping.

Depending on how big they are and the material, you can either just glue them to the wall using silicone sealer (or some construction adhesive) or you can mount studs in the backs of the letters and drill holes in the brick to hold them in place.

I like to cut a cardboard template out and use that for the placement of the letters
Jerry,
Once I made my first cutout, like the one you use, there was no going back. I've installed letters for years and only wish I'd learned this method earlier. I like making the pattern from cheap 1/4" corrigated plastic.

more info on this link,
the round letters would be horizontally centered rather than sitting all the letters on a base line because the round letters are taller.
if the letters have thick returns and are viewed at an angle i leave more space between letters so you can see the background between the letters.
otherwise they can look like a streak of color. the returns can be painted a different color to avoid the problem. but sometimes with sign zoning laws i have to condense the line to meet the square footage required here.
Glue can be hard to remove so i like the studs spaced to line up with mortar joints if you are making the letters. then when removed the damage can be repaired easy.

I use the exact logo to make my template. That way they are in the correct position. Lower case e and o are just a little lower.
