Hi guys,

First thanks to everyone for your input on sound abatement.

I'm considering a 48x48 PRSStandard with a spindle...

I have another question... I'm looking for advice on cutting material like 1/32 balsa and also 1mm hardwood - like baltic birch.

I'm talking to the folks at ONSRUD about their tools for cutting this kind of material but I was wondering if anybody here had experience they might share with me cutting thin soft and hard woods?

I'm cutting parts for sailplane kits some of which are quite small and delicate...

Thanks in advance for any help!

Mike

Check out Russ Todd's pressure foot

http://www.talkshopbot.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11984&highlight=pressure+foot

It is designed for thin materials.

BTW He's a Shopbotter also

I agree the pressure foot would do very well. though a laser may be a better choice for what your doing.
