My shop was 16x24 and after i squeezed that 5x10 shopbot in there you can see how i had to shove other tools to the side. Well I finally added an additional 16x24 so i'll now have the space i need to use the tools properly.
The problem i had before was "too many tools, not enough space", now I have "too much space and not enough tools"....

you will fill it all up soon enough.

I remember the days, 7 years or so ago when I could still fit all my tools in a single tool box.

It will fill up faster than you think. I started with a 20x20 , now i have a 50x60 and in the spring plan to add 30x30 addition. congrads on the new space,

too much space and not enough tools

Fortunately that is an easy problem to solve. The bigger problem will be finding all those tools once you have twice as many.

Enjoy your new expansion and keep the pics coming!

One of these days I will have to post pictures of how all my stuff is crammed into my shop.

I am reminded of the saying "he who has the most tools when he dies wins!".
My justification for adding on is that, it is that much less grass I now have to cut. Now if i can just figure out how I can extend the shop to the front lawn i'll have it made!:D

Not to hijack the thread, but here is my effort at shoehorning. Before I moved my shop home to my 550 square-foot shop, I had something like 3000 square-foot for tools and storage. So I'm going in the opposite direction of Jack. I still have to have a storage unit for wood.

Donn, I have to ask; is that a converted hospital gurney or similar - what an incredibly good idea with great locking casters that don't get stuck on a grain of sand and height adjustment too.

Update: Oops, I should have looked at the rest of the pic's and accompanying explanations - you made it clear :-)

Donn the only problem I have with your "shoehorning" concept is that I don't have the organizational skill (or discipline) to kep things in order. If you look at my pictures above you'll see the shop with tools stacked on top of tools. I've been doing that too long however i'm already planning the next expansion when i get this part filled...

Donn

I see you still have room for a "Coors" sign:)

I gotta keep my priorities, Erminio.

Jack, if I didn't at least clean between jobs I couldn't find anything or get anything done.
