I'm reluctantly joining the modern world of Search Engine Optimization and internet marketing, etc. - I've been resisting putting all of my contact info in a signature here on the forum, out of nostalgia for the simple times I guess, but I'm hearing more and more about how having those links pays dividends down the road.

Now I've had two clients call this week alone who were searching the internet looking for someone who could do some CNC cutting, at least one of whom found multiple links to this forum and some of my posts during a Google search. Hmmm, never really occurred to me to promote my CNC services through my websites, but I'm finding that type of work more and more attractive, so why not? Simply putting your contact info where people can find it makes sense, right?

Anyway, my apologies in advance for all of you who will have to scroll past my signature for the next ??thousand posts. (You can turn off signature displays in your User Control Panel - but who would want to do that?). I'm all for keeping this forum as non-commercial as possible but this seems like pretty common practice by now. Let me know if you think this is over the top - you know me, when I do something, I jump in all the way.

Here goes....

Hi David,

I certainly have no issue with it :D
But I would caution you about including your e-mail address in plain text - robots read these and you are inviting a lot of spam...

Thanks Ron, I get a ton of spam on that e-mail address already so what's a few more? If it gets to be intolerable I'll put it in code or something.
