In the Aspire software, there is a list of single line fonts that can be selected. Since these are lines instead of closed vectors, how are they meant to be carved? If I use a vbit and do a profile toolpath cutting on the line, I get something that looks like the attachment.

The sign is 12 x 36 and going at the entrance to a housing development, so it will need to legible from the road by people in cars driving by.

Thanks

there are single and triple line fonts. if you are going to vcarve they are not the choice. they are meant more for shallow cutting. Myself I use them more for shallow cutting when I label items. When engraving thin plastics and such.

Steve beat me to it. As he stated, those are used more for engraving (like brass plates). Particularly the multiple line ones like 2L, 3L, and 4L.

Look for the same or similar font in the other list and v-carve it instead.

The advice on v carving is correct but "legible from the road by people in cars driving by" using an old english font is not going to be all that legible however you cut it. A high contrast sans serif font for an easy read sign is what I would reccommend. Russ

Is that an Aspire font? I can't find it in my Aspire list.

Thanks,

Jim

No, it was installed by either windows or some other piece of software I've installed.

Looks like you can get it here... http://www.azfonts.net/load_font/1196770863_oldengl.html
