Folks - Our machine has been having a case of hiccups.... The gantry moves along just fine, then either stops for *just* a moment and resumes, or stops and then crashes out. This happens on both X & Y. I've shaken the wire bundle thinking it could be a short, but this has no effect. I'd appreciate any feedback...

The first thing I would suggest is to drop the motors out of the gears and see how smooth everything rolls that way.
Make any mechanical adjustments necessary first.

Folks -
Yes, the gantry rolls about just fine. We haven't changed or updated software recently, we have found running ONE version behind the current control software is better, and haven't had any issues until recently.
I probably should have mentioned these items in my first query.
TIA for any assistance...
John

I run my Bot with a laptop. If I forgot to turn the wireless off I get the hiccups too. No problem if the wireless is off.
Hope this helps.

The machine is an Alpha, and we don't even have an internet connection on the machine - the dongle is removed.

I am running xp on my bot pc and this helped me a lot.
I stripped it down to the basics so nothing gets in the way of running the machine.
I'm not sure if it will help, but it can't hurt to read through it.
